APB Reloaded: Been a while since my last post

Seems like a long time ago I was posting about my APB experiences, over the years a lot has happened and despite my lack of activity I have been playing the game on and off.

One contributing factor is the game’s performance on my PC which has declined to the point of a very unstable frame rate (fps). My computer isn’t what I would consider a high end gaming PC but hardware can only perform as good as the software allows, APB being the biggest limiting factor here.

The game engine is so out of line with modern hardware and lacks efficient multi-threading capability that it performs quite bad on processors with weak single threaded performance, such as my AMD Phenom II X6 1045T CPU. In fact, this is a major drawback for all current generation AMD processors.

Change is coming as the APB game engine is being updated with the game moving to the PS4 and Xbox consoles, so hopefully a massive performance boost will be had as a result. I look forward to that day and until then I’ll make do with my fps.
