Project Node 202: Memory Choice Update

I found a memory kit by ADATA, XPG Z1 3000MHz 2x16GB. This was spotted on Amazon as a Prime member special for only £170.00, whereas most DDR4 32GB kits are retailing closer to £300.00. The only concern I have right now are the overall dimensions of the memory modules, the full height is quoted at 44mm high.

This is going to be a very tight fit due to the Scythe Big Shuriken 2 Rev.B cooler’s clearance.

As shown here there is a 38mm gap from the base of the heatsink to the top where it will hang above the memory slots. You might be wondering how 44mm can fit into a 38mm gap?

This is where I hope it all fits into place, the heat sink will sit on top the i7-6700K, which means a slight height increase due to the CPU and socket dimensions. I estimate at least 6mm so 38mm becomes 44mm. If it doesn’t fit I will have to modify the CPU heat sink or remove the memory heat spreader.
